St John's Shaughnessy Anglican Church, Vancouver is a community of Christians dedicated to the exposition and teaching of the Word of God, to the spreading of the good news of the Gospel at home and abroad, and to the application of God's purpose in our own lives and families.

CrossCurrent 8-week program:
The CrossCurrent program from Living Waters offers a safe place for people to find freedom from abuse, relational dependency, addiction, destructive relationships, pornography, same-sex attraction, and other kinds of brokenness. As an open, Christ-centred support group, CrossCurrent helps people grapple with the truth of their sexuality and relationships.
CrossCurrent is the introductory program of Living Waters, available to anyone who is open to the healing ministry of the Holy Spirit, desires meaningful relationships with men and women, and is willing to be honest with others about the broken areas of their life.
This ministry is based on prayer and healing by the Holy Spirit. Once accepted into the program, candidates will join a group that meets once a week for eight weeks.
Agenda includes:
- hearing a short talk as a large group
- breaking into small groups in which the candidates will receive prayer
- one-to-one meetings with counselors
Topics for each evening include:
- Jesus and the real self
- The cross and the false self
- The cross and confession
- How Jesus bears our wounds
- Our security in God's love
During the past year, examples of issues participants brought before God include:
- A sense of emptiness in relationships and longing to experience God's love.
- Neglect in childhood and many losses and failures which made it hard to claim identity as a child of God.
- Struggle with same sex attraction, shame and fear. Longing to acknowledge struggles and seek help from God's family.
- Wounded relationships due to own or spouse's use of pornography.
- Feelings of unworthiness before God because of past sexual activity.
Living Waters 30-week program:
Living Waters also offer a 30-week program for those who have taken the introductory course and are willing to continue to deepen their relationship with Jesus. This program is not held at St. John's.
