Who we are:

St John's Shaughnessy Anglican Church, Vancouver is a community of Christians dedicated to the exposition and teaching of the Word of God, to the spreading of the good news of the Gospel at home and abroad, and to the application of God's purpose in our own lives and families.

education > central focus

A good place to start studying the Bible if you are a newcomer, don't belong to any small home groups, or have just finished the Christianity Explored courses.

Central Focus is a small group Bible study for all ages that meets in the Trendell Lounge at St. John’s, on Tuesday evenings from September to June. There are 10-12 people in each group, who remain together for the year.

The evening always starts with dessert and coffee at 7:15 pm, then at 7:30 we split into small groups for prayer and study. Central Focus small groups aim to study and understand what the Bible says, and Bible study skills learned here are invaluable. The evening ends at 9 pm.

Central Focus is a great place to meet others, especially if you are new to St. John’s, and to prayerfully support and encourage each other to put into practice what the Bible is teaching us.
