Who we are:

St John's Shaughnessy Anglican Church, Vancouver is a community of Christians dedicated to the exposition and teaching of the Word of God, to the spreading of the good news of the Gospel at home and abroad, and to the application of God's purpose in our own lives and families.

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Our home group Bible studies are very important to our church life together here at St. John’s. Many of us find that meeting together with a small group of people during the week to help one another understand God’s word and to pray together really helps us apply God's word in our lives, and to grow in our relationship with God and with one another.

Commitment is important for the group and for personal growth. Home group members are encouraged to commit to a term of study, to spend time in preparation, to attend regularly, and to spend time in reflection.

There are currently 20 to 25 home groups that meet on a regular basis. Our home groups generally follow the St. John’s Bible study curriculum using a study guide and tool kit.
