Dear Friends,
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossians urging them to
"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving . . . Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer every one."
A number of people have told me this week that the media coverage of our vestry decision has opened doors for conversation about Jesus Christ. Some are furious, many are curious about motivation and what it all means. It is important for us as ambassadors for Christ to be open about our faith and to make the most of our time, looking for ways to point people to the grace and glory of our Lord Jesus when we have opportunity. So the Apostle’s words are very relevant for us—pray, look wisely for opportunities, and know how to answer those who ask you about your faith.
Since our vote, the following churches have also voted to receive the oversight of Bishop Harvey and the Anglican Network of Canada under the jurisdiction of the Southern Cone:
St. George’s (Lowville), Campbellville, ON
St. Hilda’s, Oakville. ON
St. Chad’s, Toronto, ON
St. Mary’s (Metchosin), Victoria, BC
St. Matthew’s, Abbotsford, BC
Holy Cross, Abbotsford, BC
St Alban’s, Ottawa, ON
Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters across the country and for the National Network clergy conference this week. Our guest speaker is Rev. Terry Wong from Singapore who is the chaplain to the primate of South East Asia.

Movies have become one of our more popular art forms, and these evenings are designed to challenge us beyond merely watching them into something of what Griffith was after. We plan to enjoy each work for its unique merits as we engage them for new recognitions of the nature of God, our world, and ourselves. The evenings will involve a public screening with refreshments, a brief commentary on the filmmaker’s themes, and opportunities for question and discussion. Join us! All movies are shown at 7:30 pm. Pick up blue invitations at the door to use to invite your friends.
