Dear Friends,

Welcome to St. John's as we rejoice together this Pentecost Sunday in the good news of Jesus and the giving of the Holy Spirit. God dwells with us because of Jesus and this fulfills all the promises of the Old Testament. When God gives us faith in Jesus, His Holy Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are children of God through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. We have joyous unity as the family of God because we together receive the forgiveness of our sins and the gift of new life in Him forever. May we remember today that together we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing through our Lord Jesus.

As we remember our blessings in Jesus let us also thank God on this Mothers' Day because He has ministered to us and blessed us through our mothers. Today is a very good day to thank our mothers and to thank God.

Finally, we do congratulate Jim Salladin on his ordination to the diaconate two Sundays ago and we share with you the photo above to remind you of that joyous event.

God bless you,

Dan Gifford
