Dear Friends,

As the summer break draws to a close most young people in Vancouver are making the most of their last days on the beach soaking up the sun and enjoying a loose schedule. However, in this last week of summer, the St. John’s youth will be spending their time gathering around God’s word at VYLC (Vancouver Youth Leadership Conference) August 25-28 and Kickstart, August 29-30.

VYLC is in its third year with David Short and Richard James as the keynote speakers. It is a very exciting conference to be a part of and this year we are pleased to have participants from Network churches joining us. First time participants study Biblical Theology (understanding how the Bible fits together from Genesis to Revelation), second year students study Hermeneutics (principles for interpreting Bible passages), and third year will study Doctrine. Alongside the teaching program is practical ministry instruction.

KICKSTART is immediately after VYLC and is a weekend of Bible teaching and fellowship for CTC, Senior Youth and Ekklesia to kickstart the year with God’s word. This is our fourth annual Kickstart with our very own Eric Thurston and Aaron Roberts as the speakers.

It’s never too late to volunteer to help us. (Contact Julie@stjohnsshaughnessy.org)
It’s always a good time to pray for us. So please do either or both!
