Dear Friends,

If you were to join us for Sunday School this morning, you couldn’t stop yourself from feeling deeply grateful for the children the Lord has given us at St John’s. If you stayed with us for the morning, I hope that our vision of raising children as disciples of Christ would be abundantly clear. I would like the hour children are with us on Sunday mornings to be the best hour of learning and fellowship they have all week long. I would like the hour to fi ll them with the certainty that the Lord has made them to delight in him and in one another. My hope is that families will not let anything get in the way of bringing their children to be with us each week, for the sake, not only of their own children, but for all the other children as well.

You know the saying that it takes a whole village to raise a child. I believe that it takes the whole church, all of us, to help each other walk with the Lord. Right now we have a need for people to lead our children on Sunday mornings. We are looking for people who will love the children in their care, who are feeding on God’s word and want to bring these words of life into the lives of others. My prayer is that people will come forward, not asking what is the minimum requirement, but eager to give themselves wholeheartedly. All our leaders teach with at least one other person, and meet with their team Sunday by Sunday. Teams are provided with lesson material, prayerful support and training.

Please pray that the Lord would awaken six people to respond to this need by the fi rst week of
November. If you would like to talk more about how you could be part of this ministry, please contact me this week, at the church or email me.
