No question is too hostile or basic and no knowledge of faith is expected!

The course is free, but a small donation is asked to help cover the cost of the awesome food. The next course begins May 28. Dear Friends,

This Sunday it is a joy to welcome Steve and Rachel James back to Vancouver for one Sunday. This week, Steve is leading a mission for the congregation of Christ’s Church Oceanside in Nanoose Bay, which, under the leadership of Rev. Guy Bellerby has joined the Network and is now meeting in new premises. What a great way to start this new stage in their life together — by having a mission to celebrate the joy of God in giving us his Son!

Tomorrow our three week legal case begins. You will find a brochure in your handouts this morning called “FAQ’S ABOUT THE LEGAL TRIAL”, which answers a number of key questions and hopefully prepares us to better take this opportunity, which God has given us. What Christ’s Church Oceanside is doing this next week and what we are doing may look and feel different, but they are the same thing. This is what God has given us to do and we must not waste it, but rather continue to trust God and move his grace forward. Please pray that God would use Steve, Guy, and Christ’s Church Oceanside to bring people into relationship with him.

I have been reading the book of Acts in preparation for our Fall series and it is remarkable how much time the early Christians spent in front of courts. From Acts 21 - 28 the Apostle Paul is imprisoned and faces various trials, but as he writes to Timothy from Rome “God’s word is not chained.” Just the opposite; when Christians live boldly and speak boldly for Christ, some believe and some oppose but the word of God grows and multiplies.

The next three weeks do not put the gospel in jeopardy, but are part of the very big purpose of God for His world. Look back over the past seven years and see what God has done for us — in connecting us to our brothers and sisters in Malawi, in developing a global fellowship of confessing Anglicans, in blessing our small groups, our youth ministry, our children’s ministry, in seeing Christ add to our numbers, in His financial provision. Will God continue with us? Not only will He, but He promises to be with us and His constant word to us is, “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give to you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32.

David.
