Dear Friends, In Acts 18, Priscilla and Aquila, sent out by Paul, find Apollos preaching in Ephesus. While Apollos is faithful to the Good News, preaching with zeal, he is only aware of John’s baptism of repentance, having not heard of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Verse 26 says, “when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately”. They blessed him with both greater teaching and encouragement. At St. John’s, the youth are blessed to have this same opportunity with the youth of Vancouver. For the past few years, at the end of the summer, Ken and Julie Moser have been running the Vancouver Youth Leadership Conference. The aim of VYLC is to equip both current and future leaders with solid Bible teaching as well as more effective leadership strategies. This year, VYLC will be running from Monday, Aug 31 to Thursday, Sep 3. Another youth conference being held at the end of the summer is Kickstart. Kickstart is designed to do exactly as the title says – kickstart the youth with Bible teaching and encouragement for the year to come. This conference will be run from September 4 to 5. If you or anyone you know would be interested in attending either of these events please register ASAP! You can contact Julie Moser at julie@stjohnsshaughnessy.org. We are also looking for help in the kitchen during these conferences. It would be a great way to get involved with and bless the youth! Again, if you are interested, please contact Julie Moser at julie@stjohnsshaughnessy.org. Every blessing, Robert Edwards Summer Youth Intern
