This passage is the turning point of the Gospel. The end point is "to be received up in heaven." The rest of the Gospel is about Jesus being seated at the right hand of God via Jerusalem. It's glory via suffering, and Jesus' journey is our journey. There are two tracks for discipleship: (1) Our pilgrimage is following the person of Jesus Christ. v57 "I'm homeless on this earth, if you follow me, you too will be homeless." We don't settle down in this world, we look towards heaven... (2) Pilgrimage with a purpose. What does it look like practically?
