Acts sermon series and Bible study

Acts: The acts of the risen Christ from heaven by the Holy Spirit through His Church.

We began our study of the book of Acts with a one-day overview provided by David Short on 12 Sep, 2009. We encourage you to follow along with us in our studies, both on Sundays and in a small Bible study group. Below are some study resources and you can link directly from here to the sermons in the series. Please contact the church for the Acts Bible study guide or download it as a PDF below.

Key features of books in this series are introductory chapters on ‘getting our bearings in the book’ and ‘planning a series’. The ‘meat of the book’ then works systematically through a suggested series, working with the Bible teacher from text to sermon or talk. Each chapter ends with a suggested preaching / teaching outline and a detailed Bible study which would be ideal for small groups.

The Message of Acts by John Stott The Message of Acts
John Stott
The Book of Acts, John Stott believes, is important not only for its vivid historical record. It is also vital for the inspiration which it brings to us now. Despite all its imperfections and troubles, the young church clearly had been overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit, who thrust it out to witness. The experiences of the early church therefore have much to say about issues that concern Christians today.
