St John's Vancouver Anglican Church, Vancouver is a community of Christians dedicated to the exposition and teaching of the Word of God, to the spreading of the good news of the Gospel at home and abroad, and to the application of God's purpose in our own lives and families.

If you have a child age birth to grade 6 then you are in the right place! Every week the children of St. John's meet together and participate in songs, drama, games, and art to capture imaginations, engage their minds, and teach them about God through lessons based on the bible's teachings.
Where do I bring my child on a Sunday morning?
All children start with their families in the main service at either 9:00 or 11:00 a.m. (10:00 a.m. in the summer).
During the service the children will be asked to come to the front where there will be a short “Children's talk” and a prayer by one of our ministers. The children are then invited to the Trendell Lounge for Sunday School.
What can my child expect on a Sunday morning?
Sunday mornings look different for each of the age groups. These are the age group divisions that exist at St. John's:
Babies (birth to 3 years of age) are nurtured and loved in the safe atmosphere of the St. John's nursery. All children are invited to participate in times of playing and singing, while the older children will spend time exploring God's truth.
Parents will be given a pager should those caring for their children need to alert them to return. The nursery and toddlers’ room are next door to each other in the Lower Hall, on the south side of the building.
In the Trendell Lounge, Children 4 years of age to grade 6 come together for singing and prayer as well as updates from our missionaries from around the world! They are then led into small groups with other children of their age. Pre-school aged children up to children in grade 2 meet in their respective groups in the Lower Hall. Children in grade 3-6 meet in the Trendell Lounge.
This is a time where your child will get to partake in a skit, try out their hand at drawing and painting, play a game and find out what the Bible has to say about God and his desire for the world and their life.
This is a great opportunity for children to meet other children in the church!
Please note that a class for grade 6 is offered only during the 11:00 am service. The leaders of this group will be the Bible study leaders for these children when they move into the CTC (Christian Teen Club) in the spring.
We have a policy of “team teaching” in our Sunday School, meaning that a team of two teachers always leads children. All volunteers receive input on Safety Guidelines for Childcare at St. John’s as well as receiving ongoing training and support from our children’s ministry team.
We also have a compiled list of allergies and medical information about each child. If your child is new to St. John's Sunday School we ask that you fill out a registration form so that we can have their updated contact and medical information.
In order to ensure the safety of your child, our policy is that children ages 4 to grade 2 are not allowed to leave their Sunday School classroom until their parents arrive to retrieve them.
