Vancouver Christian Women's Conference: LiveWord

Feeding On The Word Of God.

As the living and active word of God, King David's soul-searching psalms speak to us today with uncompromising truth. The Anointed King is sung about and praised by God's anointed king, David, a thousand years before His coming. Join us for a day of Bible teaching as we discover the riches in Psalms 22, 23, and 24, that point us to our true and eternal King, Jesus.

This is an opportunity to gather with other women to:

  • Deepen our knowledge and understanding of Scripture
  • Grow in our understanding of who Jesus is, as He is portrayed in the Psalms
  • Discern together what this means for us today
  • Praise the Lord in worship

Speakers:

Our speakers have the benefit of learning from expository preaching for many years, have proven hearts and skills for clearly explaining the Bible, and have formal training in speaking/teaching.

Carolyn Hindmarsh
Carolyn has an undergraduate and a graduate degree in theology, and she presently teaches Greek at Regent College where her husband Bruce is a professor. Their home is a lively place these days with three busy (and hungry) teenage children and many enthusiastic (and hungry) Regent students that come through the door – not to mention one extremely lively dog.

Marion Maxwell
Marion is presently the Executive Director of Genesis Vancouver, a long-term recovery ministry for sexually exploited women and their children. She has a degree in Physical Education, a Diploma in Christian Studies from Regent College, and her Clinical Pastoral Education training at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. She has worked as a teacher, an IVCF staff member, running a home for delinquents, a chaplain, and a butler.

Polly Long
Polly was born and raised in East Tennessee. Since 2002, Polly has been teaching Homiletics, Greek and Academic writing at Regent College, where her husband Phil teaches the Old Testament. Polly is also involved with the ministry of Project Genesis here in Vancouver. She and Phil have four children and five grandchildren.
