St John's Vancouver Anglican Church is a community of Christians dedicated to the exposition and teaching of the Word of God, to the spreading of the good news of the Gospel at home and abroad, and to the application of God's purpose in our own lives and families.
Prayer is an essential component of the Christian's life. If you wish to become part of our praying congregation, there are many ways at St. John’s to join in prayer.
Prayer during communion – Every first and third Sunday at both the 9 am and 11 am services during communion, there are prayer teams who are available to pray with us individually, inviting us to bring all the concerns, desires, and petitions of our hearts. And as part of every Evening Service, again there are prayer teams available to pray with members of the congregation.
Keeping Company with God – This prayer service is held every second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 pm in the church. This service is an incredibly uplifting time. It starts with a short homily, followed by quiet reflective music and songs, and periods of quietness.
Evensong – is a prayerful, quiet service held every Tuesday evening at 5:30 pm, and is followed by dinner.
