CTC stands for Christian Teens’ Club and is for grades 7–9. CTC meets every Sunday morning at 11am in the St. John’s Youth Room. We have a lot of fun as we sing, pray, hear from the Bible and get to know each other better. We also have socials and retreats throughout the year. It is a great group to be a part of! There are also CTC Bible studies that meet throughout the week during the school year.

What CTC means to us:

“CTC’s awesome! I like hanging with my Bible study. We have lots of fun and like talking about God, we like messing around and doing skits, it’s a good way of learning about God. I also just like hanging out with my friends.” – grade 7
“I come to recharge with others and learn more about myself, to learn how to evangelize, and to gather with other Christians that build me up. Before coming I never had so much fun being a Christian. I like everything about it.” – Peter, age:12
“I come to CTC every week because when I come and hang out with other Christians I go home feeling refreshed and ready for another week of school. I like CTC because I love everything about it: the people, the talks, the games, the retreats… EVERYTHING!! I also love that when I come to CTC happy they double my emotions and when I come sad, they comfort me.” – grade 9
“I first came to CTC because my friend said she loved going, so I went because I was curious. I came in and I was immediately engulfed in a loving community. I knew right away that if I carried on living the life I was previously living, I would not be the happy person I am today! CTC changed my life! I love it! I come because it is so much fun to praise God with your friends, and I can ask questions I have and have them answered! All week I’m so excited for those Friday Bible studies and those Sunday CTC’s! I like being together and learning about God! It’s so much fun to do it in a large group!” – Julie, grade 9
“I came to CTC because my family has been coming to this church since before I was born. I really like it here because I feel I’m in a community.” – Noah, grade 7
“CTC is one of my favourite places to be. I have a great time because we play a lot of fun Biblical and normal games. The youth are really nice as well as the leaders, Ken and Julie the top leaders are very smart, kind, energetic and amazing people. The talks we are taught [are] really deep but simple talks that really teach me and make me a better Christian. I also feel very welcome and happy here. – Lucas, age:14
“I’m here today because my cousin brought me. So far it has been fun.” ☺
“I enjoy CTC because it allows me every week to be closer to God and my friends.”
“I enjoy CTC because it provides a very deep connection between the leaders and kids. I really like the comradery that CTC provides because it develops the kind of friendships you just can’t achieve at school or on sports team.” – David, grade 9
“Bible study is about drawing closer to Christ and gaining a deeper understanding about Jesus’ love for us. It provides a platform for Christian fellowship and a base for evangelism. It also provides an opportunity for encouragement.” – Peter, grade 9
“The first time I came to CTC my mom said ‘Okay, today we’re going to church’. So I was like ‘kay and I went and I really liked it and I just kept going for like a year and a half now. And I just find it really fun to be able to go some where where you can be with Christian friends and talk about God, but have fun at the same time. ☺” – Anastasia, age:14
“When my family moved to Vancouver, our first priority was to find a great church with a solid youth group. After months of searching, we finally found St. John’s and CTC. It is truly an amazing program. We build each other up in support and fellowship. I’ve learned so much from my friends and I’m looking forward to many more years. We have crazy times together and do the weirdest things. CTC rules and I’m proud to be part of it!”
“I came to CTC because the last church I went to wasn’t very educational in teaching us about God, they just gave you a cupcake and kicked you out. In CTC they give you a whole dinner and a proper send off. CTC is so much fun and it teaches God to you. My friend who came to the last church I was in came to this one and liked it because they didn’t make her color in Jesus. Everyone is crazy so I fit perfectly too.” – Leah, age:13
“Friends are the reason why I came. Enjoying the time off. Especially when J. Tucker cracks a joke or when the guys act, it just makes me feel relaxed.” – Ken, age:12
“CTC is a great way to talk to people your age that believes in Christ and you just want to come each day. We have loads of fun and joy each day when I come to Bible study and Sunday CTC.” – Renata, grade 8
“I came to CTC because one of my friends was here. CTC is one of the best places I have even been to” – grade 8
“Each time I walk into the room I feel warm and close to God as I am warmly welcomed by friends. Coming each week is like replenishing my soul with the blood of Christ. I receive encouragement from others in difficult times when I am reminded of the love of Jesus. Or vise versa. It is like a break from the outside world and its desires, and gives me time to reflect on the Bible while having fun. God bless.” -- Liane, grade 8
“CTC is great because we get to learn about God and hang out with friends. The talks we get are very good.”
“What does CTC mean to me? Well, it means a lot. It gives me an escape from the world that we live in. To come together as Christians and grow in faith together. CTC is amazing because you get to meet awesome Christian friends that will be with you for the rest of your life. CTC is a great place to come to on Sunday morning.” – age:13
“CTC is a time where I get to hang out with friends, learn about Christ, and have fun. We have a great time doing skits and spotlight and all the other strange activities that we like to do. CTC has helped me grow closer to Christ and know him better.” – grade 8
“The best part of CTC is that Christ is always key. In everything we do, Christ is always the first priority. Everyone is always there for you, the sense of fellowship is amazing.” – Joe, grade 9
“Why do I come? I come because it is a time to hang out with fellow Christians your age. As a group, we really build each other up and encourage one another. You go to school on Monday pumped up for Jesus and excited for Bible study on Friday. I love how fund CTC is! It has a level of intense Christian learning, but it is enough for you to handle. The talks are usually really funny.” – Susie, grade 9
“I come to CTC because it’s awesome to enjoy a day just with Christians and to enjoy fellowship with each other and we have lots of fun doing skits with each other and talking about God’s word together and with your Bible study and just hanging around and having fun with your Christian friends is just awesome.” – Mark, grade 7
“CTC has helped me build new, amazing friendships and renew old friendships. Ones I’ll keep for a life time. CTC has also helped to increase and solidify my faith. I love the fellowship and the fact that it’s a Christian atmosphere away from my public high school and a materialistic world. I love it.” Laura, grade 9
“I come to CTC because it is fun. We are always laughing and having fun. I came to CTC because I didn’t like having to get up at 6:45 and leave by 7. I mainly came because my friends told me it was really awesome! So I decided to come and try it. I have kept coming since then and haven’t stopped having fun.” -- grade 9
“If there was no CTC my faith would be rocky and I might not even be a Christian. It has helped me grow so much in my faith. The fellowship with everyone in CTC is amazing, everyone builds each other up and vise versa. I’m sure the friend I have here I’ll have for life.” – M.J. 14
“I love CTC. Everybody is friendly. I can speak my mind. I remember the first time I was nervous but I found it was fun.” – Ben, grade 8
“Weeell, the reason I first came to CTC was because my brother was there and I wanted to know what it was like. I like Chris’ talks, mixers, spotlight, um, how we can all get together in fellowship and pray and have fun together. Actually, before CTC, in church you could call me a skeleton in a dungeon.”
“I came to CTC because I’ve been to St. John’s for about 6 years, so I had to come to CTC. I really like it here. All the leaders are good, except for some exceptions, just kidding! I really love it here. Everyone’s nice and funny. There is a great atomosphere as well. Its sweet being around Christian buddies. – Eli, age 12
“CTC is amazing. For one of the first times in my life, I have been challenged in my faith. Christianity isn’t all daises; I’ve learned that. But coming here, meeting with others who encourage and understand me and my beliefs and values, is simply wonderful. – grade 7
