VYLC is in its third year with David Short and Richard James as the keynote speakers. It is a very exciting conference to be a part of and this year we are pleased to have participants from Network churches joining us. First time participants study Biblical Theology (understanding how the Bible fits together from Genesis to Revelation), second year students study Hermeneutics (principles for interpreting Bible passages), and third year will study Doctrine. Alongside the teaching program is practical ministry instruction.

About the speakers

David Short
David Short has been rector of St. John’s (Shaughnessy) Anglican Church in Vancouver, British Columbia since 1993. He was born in Tanzania and brought up in Africa and in Sydney, Australia, where he studied at Moore Theological College and was ordained priest in 1987. He has degrees from the University of Wollongong, Moore College and a ThM from Regent College in Vancouver.

David and his wife, Bronwyn, have two children – Benjamin (born in 1986) and Joshua (born in 1989). He is a recognized Bible teacher, expository preacher and trainer. He is a founder and Executive Director of the Artizo Institute – a Canadian initiative to identify and train young people who are gifted for ministry. He is actively involved in the Essentials Movement, seeking reformation and renewal and a return to live orthodoxy within the Anglican Church of Canada. Since June 2005, he has been on the Executive/Board of the Anglican Network in Canada.

Richard James
Richard has been a minister for a number of years. He spent five years in Vancouver and is now the senior minister at a thriving church in Sydney Australia. He loves to teach God's word and has a passion for reaching the lost.

Ken Moser
Ken and Julie have been involved in youth ministry for over 20 years with a number of churches. They have run a large youth ministry with over 500 young people, and have worked in a church plant starting with less than ten young people. Prior to working at St. John's, they worked as youth ministry consultants for the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. They were involved in the training and equipping of youth leaders for 260 churches. In addition, Ken was a consultant with the Prebysterian Church of Queensland, Australia and the Anglican Diocese of Perth. During that time, they started up "Youth Surge". This is a regional gathering of youth groups that is held all over Australia several times a year. This year, there will be 55 youth surges attended by 5,000 youth and youth leaders! After Ken and Julie left Australia, Steve Jeffrey became the director of Youth Surge.
