A talented team of St. John’s members will travel to our Anglican partner diocese in the Upper Shire, Malawi from July 17-31. Malawi, often called “the warm heart of Africa,” is a land-locked nation in south-eastern Africa and is among the world’s least-developed countries. St. John’s has had a partnership with the Diocese of Upper Shire since 2003 that exists to encourage one another and to help spread and strengthen the gospel.
There are many ways in which this team will be helping those in the diocese. Brenda Wagner and Zoltan Horvath, both doctors, will be busy with medical ministry at St. Luke’s Hospital, while the rest of the team will attend various ministries, lead Bible study training sessions, build relationships, visit with our sponsored priests and past guests, and observe an Opportunity International micro-finance project.
The team is raising funds for trip costs which will also include medical kits, Bibles, and baby blankets. You can help support them by donating funds (link below) and by praying for this enthusiastic and dedicated group.
