Friday, October 18 (during youth)
WHERE: St. John's Vancouver, 5350 Baillie Street
All are welcome!
Parenting is not supposed to be easy. But our culture is changing so quickly that it feels like raising teens today is harder than ever! Sexuality, technology, media, drugs: how can we keep up with the popular opinions that are shaping our children's hearts and minds?
Good news! You're not alone. Just as God has given our youth the St. John's community to receive, believe, and apply the gospel, we as parents have the gift of one another for accountability and support in our discipling role as parents!
Join us this year as we share candid conversations with one another around the complicated realities of helping our teens grow up in Christ in Vancouver.
Reefer Madness: Discipling your teen in the new era of legalized marijuana
25% of Canadians aged 15-25 have smoked cannabis in the last 3 months of 2019 (35% of boys, 15% of girls). Although it may be illegal for those under 19, if your teen hasn't tried some form of marijuana they almost certainly know someone who has.
Come get the facts about recreational pot use, learn the questions to ask your teen and consider how to work together as a family to critically engage the popular cultural narratives.
