Young Adults

Welcome to our young adults group (ages 18 to mid-20s).  We call ourselves ‘Ekklesia’, meaning ‘gathering’ or ‘community’, because we believe relationships are essential to life.  So we gather weekly to cultivate deeper relationships with one another and with God.

We enjoy cooking and eating meals together, laughing and having fun, as well as supporting each other through the complexities of life.  We also enjoy exploring what the Bible says about who God is, what it means to be human, and the cultural issues of our generation.  Whether you are studying or working, exploring your life direction or asking questions about faith, you are welcome.

  • September 14 - June 21
  • Wednesdays  6:30 - 9:00 pm
  • University Chapel, 5375 University Boulevard

Wednesday evenings are profoundly simple.  First, we enjoy friendships over a tasty, inexpensive, homemade meal.  Then, we disperse into groups of 8-10 people for Bible study, honest discussion about the important questions of life, and prayer.  These evenings are full of honest friendship and joyful learning.

Periodically, we gather at the leaders’ homes instead of University Chapel.  It is an opportunity for individual Bible studies to eat, have fun together, and find creative ways to serve our community.

In July, we change pace and enjoy summer evenings at Locarno Beach (NW Marine & Tolmie).  Dinner is potluck BBQ style, so bring some food to grill and share.  Enjoy beachy games like bocce, soccer, and spikeball, or just relax outdoors and socialize.

In August, we explore topics relevant to living out the Christian faith in complex, postmodern culture.  It starts with dinner, followed by a DVD lecture and open discussion with peers.  The topics change, but they always matter.
